  • "After having major shoulder surgery at Christmas time and being told by my Surgeon that high impact exercise would no longer be an option for me, I was feeling devastated and defeated, as being active has always been a huge part of my life. So I reached out to Elise, knowing she was studying Pilates, she took me under her wing to help with my rehabilitation and made it her mission to get my shoulder moving again! I was feeling quite apprehensive at first as I couldn’t even wash my hair. Elise knew exactly how to get me started and the improvement each week was truly remarkable! This is where my Pilates journey began. Fast forward to now, I have a fully functioning shoulder and can move my body in ways I didn’t think possible! Not only has Pilates helped heal my body, it has improved my strength, balance and has shown me that you can still have a high intensity workout without impacting your joints!   • "Let’s just say that since adolescence, I never had a good relationship with ‘sport’ or fitness. I vaguely tried gyms a few times over the years but always felt unsupported, overwhelmed and intimidated. Fast forward to my 40’s I started to feel my strength disappearing.   • "Three months ago I was sleeping terribly, tired all the time, skipping meals then eating poorly to make up for it. I also had no motivation to move. Being self conscious of my body after having children and my lack of fitness ment, the thought of going to a gym, potentially being compared to other fitter, stronger, more beautiful bodies, absolutely terrified me. Until I found the incredible group of women at the Maleny Fitness Hub. These women have created a space that is so supporting, uplifting, inclusive and so full of genuine love for what they do. I cried the morning of my first spin class, as I am crying now writing these words. The tears I cry today however are not tears of fear and anxiety, they are tears of appreciation for how far I have come in just a few months. I have gone from one spin class a week, to three pilates, two spin and two 6km walks per week. I feel my body getting stronger everyday.
